Alchemy Technologies exists because growing product and IT teams often need enterprise-grade AWS capability before they are ready to staff a full internal platform organization — and because too many consulting engagements hide the people doing the work behind sales layers and opaque delivery.
Why we exist
Mid-market teams get stuck between freelancers who disappear after go-live, MSPs that obscure the environment, and large consultancies that overstaff discovery. We built Alchemy to sit in the middle: senior AWS engineering, clear commercial terms, and handoff documentation so improvements last.
Where we work
We are based in Portland, Maine, and primarily serve New England product and IT teams, with remote engagements across the United States. East Coast hours matter when cutovers, incidents, and finance reviews happen on a US schedule.
How we work with your team
We complement internal engineers rather than replace them. You get direct access to the people implementing the work, written plans before billable build starts, and runbooks so day-two operations are not locked behind Alchemy.
Delivery principles
Prefer boring, operable architectures over novelty. Treat cost and security as design constraints. Say when not to build. Leave the environment understandable. Measure success by whether your team can run what we ship.
What we will do

- Put engineers on the first call and keep them on the delivery
- Document decisions, runbooks, and ownership before we step back
- Align AWS technical baselines to your compliance needs without claiming to certify you
What we will not do
- Sell a black-box managed service that your team cannot inspect
- Staff a project with a bait-and-switch bench after the sales pitch
- Pad timelines with slideware discovery that does not change the architecture
- Promise formal compliance certification — that belongs to your assessor
Credentials and proof
Delivery is led by AWS Certified Solutions Architects. We are early as a firm and do not invent case studies or testimonials. Judge us on technical writing, how clearly we scope work, and a free architecture review with an engineer. Named client stories will appear only after real engagements and explicit permission.
